Shimano RD-4500 | $55.99
BikeRadar verdict
"Strong build and easy to adjust, this looks like a high-end part"
The improvements to the finish of the new kit mean that this rear mech wouldn't look out of place on a high-end bike. The new broad pantograph plates give greater precision when shifting the gears, and both SS and GS versions are outwardly similar to the 105 range. The GS version can handle a gear capacity of up to 37 teeth so, for example, it's compatible with a 20-39-50t triple chainset together with a 12-28 cassette. The short-arm SS rear mech, which costs £24.95, is compatible with most normal double and compact chainsets.
