Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow | $157.54
BikeRadar verdict
"An updated classic that still provides a ton of comfort"
The latest incarnation of the Flite saddle might look a little different to the original, but it still combines a reasonably light weight with huge comfort, which is what has made it so popular over more than a decade.
The slender body and narrow nose provide ample support without being too bulky, and there’s enough length to allow you to shift your position when you need to ease aching muscles.
A little flex in the shell takes the sting out of potholes, while elastomers at the ends of the rails provide more absorption. The real star, though, is the silicone gel used in the upper – it moulds to your body to provide cushioning from vibration.
We found the anatomical cutout really comfy, although, if you’re not a fan of holey saddles, more traditional designs are available.
Titanium alloy rails help keep the weight down – ours was 244g, which might not be ultra-light, but for this level of comfort it’s impressive.

User review of Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow
Comfy? You serious? I'd hate to ride one you considered uncomfortable. I was getting annoyed with the stock Specialized unit that comes on the Stumpjumper and thought after reading the review that this would be the answer
Used once. its going onto E bay

User review of Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow
Saddles either fit your bum or they don't. It's down to hull shape, and if a seat's the wrong shape for you, then it won't fit. We probably need to remember to mention this, but it's a bit tedious for the reader if we do so in every review.
We'll work on an 'all about saddles' article to deal with this.
To the person who emailled complaining that zeroseven had put a road bike saddle on a mountain bike - that's a perfectly reasonable thing to do. I have an Aliante that goes on test mountain bikes; Justin from What Mountain Bike uses road bike saddles pretty much all the time. "An arse is an arse and it's used to what it's used to" as he just put it.
Scuff protection aside, much of the difference between "road" and "mountain bike" saddles is marketing.
