While Fizik's CP is designed for the less tenderised tush, the HP (High Performance) range is designed for the comfort of higher mileage bikers.

The basic saddle profile is similarly rounded, sloping gradually away on all sides and at the nose, but you don't get the big dollop of extra padding on top. It still suits a rider who likes to slide around easily on the saddle though, rather than those who like to be sat in a 'hammock' shape to keep them centred. Just be careful of the plastic-tipped nose though, as it can snag shorts or shirts.

According to our chief spanner Jez, "if the shape suits, then there's plenty of firm but supportive padding to bolster your butt through long days in the saddle or over bruising terrain." In other words, it's the kind of saddle that really comes into its own on the second day of a 24hr race, when less padded shells are murder. The 'Wing Flex' sides are also meant to soften to your shape the more you ride, although the effect isn't as obvious as on the Gobi, and there's no fl ex in the tail either. Long titanium rails give plenty of adjustment and the extra length of the saddle will be popular with bum shufflers.
