"Well made, smooth rolling but lack a little handling precision"

These sturdy hoops are low on weight and not too high on price. The rims are well finished, laced up with straight pull, stainless, butted and blade section spokes - 16 at the front and 24 at the rear.

The nipples are at the hub to reduce rotating mass at the outside of the wheel. The bearings are loose ball, making for easy servicing and adjustment, and out of the box they are silky smooth. Although these wheels feel a little springy at times, they are big on compliance and comfort. Acceleration is quick, and if they were a little more precise at higher speeds they would be right up there with the very best in this price range. This aside, they're really very good wheels at a reasonable price.

    Very disappointing - definitely not for the heavier rider!! I'm 6' 3" and weigh in at 14 st 9 lbs and I bought a pair of these on advice from a local shop. I bought them in September 07 and I have only managed to get about 450 miles out of them. Fine on the flat, but every time I climb a hill they go badly out of true and you can even hear the aero spokes 'tinging' as soon as I climb out of the saddle! They have spent more time in the bike shop than they have on my bike!

    I've had a set of these for a year now and think they are excellent. Very little maintenance required, seem reasonably stiff, look good and have stayed very true without any adjustment. They're not the lightest wheels - my front wheel is heavier than the spec, but the rear weight is acurate. For the price you can't fault them though. Also they'll take 8-10 spd cassettes, which is handy compared to the Ultegra and Duraace sets.
