Campag have made changes to their wheel line-up for 2007, the biggest hit being these Khamsins. The 24mm deep alloy rims are welded and then machined, and they feature a brake wear indicator groove to tell you when they're worn out.
They are laced up using straight gauge stainless spokes and self-locking nipples. The front runs on 24 spokes and the rear on 27. Hubs are superb quality, with smooth, well sealed bearings. The rear freehub is well supported and highly durable. Out on the roads they are light and accelerate quickly, yet they don't feel nervous or twitchy. Like almost all Campag wheels we've tested, they're as tough as old boots, taking lots of abuse without suffering.

Laughed when I read the description above that these wheels have "self-locking nipples" because I've had 3 unthread themselves and bounce around the inside of the front rim! Amazingly, the wheel stays pretty true with a spoke out but should this really happen? Otherwise, good tough training/winter wheels.

Agree a good strong wheel, great for buzzing around winter B roads - apart from the bearings, had to replace front and back under warranty. Cone type bearings for me next time.
