Met Anaxagore

BikeRadar verdict

4 out of 5 stars

"Sound, reasonably vented and well fitting lid for the price."

By BikeRadar

The Anaxagore uses a very similar hoops and vaults shell style to the popular Fifth Element helmet, but with thicker ribs, fewer vents and a fixed position peak.

Airflow is still decent though, with rear ports helping to pull the breeze across your bonce. The thicker ribs also give more protection for bush divers and it's still a reasonable weight. Fit is very good too, as it uses the same floating web system, straps and rear closure as the Fifth. While most of the crown pads are thicker, you get the same reversible Coolmax forehead pad as its more expensive brother. This means you can flip it around at the café to avoid the dreaded sodden scalp feeling after midride stops. Hardshell coating protects most of the helmet but the lower edges are still soft polystyrene, which can get scuffed quickly.
