Lazer Helmets Genesis RD Helmet (10) | $190.40
BikeRadar verdict
"Superb fit system and full coverage shell, yet still cool and refreshingly stink-free"
Lazer have totally revamped their helmet range with an innovative fit system that makes the Genesis RD a top-end performer.
The full coverage shell with a dropped rear isn’t light or low-profile, but gives a safe, protected feel and there’s no vision intrusion. The distinctive cutout design also creates a range of vent shapes and sizes for all wind speeds and angles.
The fit of a helmet is typically controlled at the back, but Lazer buck that trend and use a wheel on top and to the rear of the Genesis. This results in easy fine adjustments – even when you’re riding – and is all part of Lazer’s unique Rollsys cradle fitting system.
Rather than wrapping horizontally round the occipital lump at the back of your skull, twin loops cradle the rear sides of your head and tighten with a roller, creating an outstandingly snug and secure, ponytail-friendly grip that allows for the shape of your head as well as its size.
The large vents provide excellent ventilation, while the lid also meets a full set of standards. A crash replacement helmet can be bought with a 50 percent discount.

User review of Lazer Helmets Genesis RD Helmet (10)
I have had 2 of these now and they are the best helmets I have ever had. The cradle system makes both intuitive sense and, I think has a more comfortable and secure feeling. Further they defintely work as I crashed in one and it protected my bonce excellently - subsequently I got another through crash replacement via Bob Elliots.

User review of Lazer Helmets Genesis RD Helmet (10)
Best fitting helmet for my large noggin.
I work at a large shop with all Bell and Giro. The Lazer fits me far better than anything from the big boys - and the shop doesn't even carry Lazer (I ordered with a 20% coupon from a small shop). Lazer is easier to find now that US supplier QBP reps them.
Very comfy and cool in the heat and humidiy of the southeast USA.
Much lower profile than Giro (why are their helmets so freaking huge?) and a bit smaller than Bell.
It weighs a bit more than some Giro, but I don't notice it. What I do notice is the exceptional ventilation. And the fit .... well, there is no better fitting helmet.
