MET Veleno D (10)
BikeRadar verdict
"A decent lid but it’s up against tougher opposition"
The cycle helmet market is a challenging one, with manufacturers Met, Bell and Giro up against the likes of Trek, Specialized and Giant. For a lid to make an impact, then, it has to be pretty special.
Met’s Veleno is a reasonable weight – 315g (large) – and its 20 vents are effective at keeping you cool. The ratcheted retention system keeps it secure and comfortable, while the straps are lightweight Kevlar and its Coolmax padding is washable.
But though the construction quality is extremely solid throughout, the finish quality – where the plastic outer joins the expanded polystyrene – isn’t quite as neat.
Add to that the fact there are lighter helmets available for a similar price and suddenly it’s not quite so impressive.
As well as the Cannondale model shown below, the Veleno is available in black or white. Sizes are medium (54-57cm) and large (58-60cm).

User review of MET Veleno D (10)
I have had a white one of these for about 2.5 years now. No complaints whatsoever from me, it's comfortable, cool and looks good.
