UK Cycling has been given a 21% increase in funding for the 2012 Olympics: up from £22.1m to £26.9m. The news is part of an announcement by funding body UK Sport for all sports leading up to the London Olympic Games.
The British cycling team was responsible for bringing home 14 medals at the Beijing Olympics, including three gold medals for Chris Hoy, gold for Nicole Cooke, Victoria Pendleton, and Rebecca Romero as well as gold in the men’s team pursuit.
