Chance to race on Le Mans circuit
Details have been released of next year's 24 Heures Velo, a team cycling race that takes place on the world famous Le Mans motor racing circuit in north-west France.
The 2010 race will take place on the weekend of 21-22 August, with the goal being to complete as many laps as possible within 24 hours. Up to 3,000 people are expected to take part.
English rider Roger Sparrow took part in this year's inaugural race with one of two teams from UK-based USE/Exposure Lights. Along with a USE/Cadbury team and a solo female rider, they were the only Brits taking part.
He told BikeRadar: "It was brilliant – extremely well organised, with fantastic facilities... and the atmosphere was terrific. The track was spotless and surprisingly good fun to ride on. There was one hill and the rest was fast and open. All in all it was a fantastic experience, and we'll be back."
For more details about the 2010 race, visit www.24heuresvelo.fr. Registration opens on 6 November.

Looks a great idea until you see the prices.
€250 for solo! That's over £150. Daylight robbery. Mind you- if they can find enough mugs to pay the entry fee...
I did a similar event a few times (24hr d'INSA) in Lyon, and I'm sure that it was around the £10 to £20 mark.

These are two very different events... Renting the Le Mans track is expensive and riding on it as nothing to compare with the Lyon race...really !!
Have a look at the Le Mans contestants' testimonies on www.24heuresvelo.fr/en
