Chris Newton injured
British rider Chris Newton, a past world points race champion set to represent his country at this year’s Olympics, was injured in an incident with a car on Thursday morning.
The 34 year-old was training near his home in Oldham, Manchester when a car door opened in front of him, and he broke his left collarbone as a result. British Cycling told BikeRadar that the break was a clean one, meaning he should be able to ride on a turbo trainer next week and resume full training within five weeks.
The accident means that Newton will miss the upcoming track world championships in Manchester, but it will not affect his selection for the Beijing Olympics later this year.

Are cars going to kill/maim our entire Olympic cycling team? That's 2 down so far.
Remember what happened to the Australian women's cycling team a few years back.
