Dahon recalls bikes over seatpost fears

By Bikeradar

Folding bike specialist Dahon is recalling some bikes over fears the seat post bolt may break.

The company has issued a voluntary recall notice for Matrix, Jack, Espresso, Cadenza, Tournado and Smooth Hound 2007 models.

The bicycles in question - some folding, some rigid, all feature bolt on seat posts labelled “BioLogic PostPump”. The posts are 27.2mm in diameter.

It is thought that the steel material for the bolt does not meet strength requirements and could fail during use, according to reports on Bike Biz.

The problem only affects some batches of bikes, but, because it has not been confirmed exactly which batches, Dahon has offered to replace seat post bolts on all the models in question.

If you own one of the bikes listed, take your bike back to the place you bought it, or an official Dahon dealer, for a free replacement bolt.
