Kirklees Sportive places still available

Over 130 riders have already registered to ride Kirklees Council’s 80 mile Mayor’s Challenge Sportive, but organisers are hoping plenty more will sign up and in doing so help raise as much money as possible for charity.

The ride - on April 27 - is all in aid of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, and should set pulses racing with both its breath-taking scenery and its challenging climbs. So far riders from Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Tameside and Essex have registered to compete alongside the many Yorkshire entrants.

Riders will pass through the rural districts of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, including the Holme Valley and Denby Dale, with the route tackling some famous South Pennine climbs including Holme Moss. Profits from the £15 entry fee are going to charity and to register simply log on to www.kirklees.gov.uk/sportive
