London Cycle Show could seriously affect your wallet
The BikeRadar mountain bike test track is proving a big hit today, Friday, now that the doors to London's Cycle Show have been opened to the general public.
The off-road course is surprisingly varied considering its setting, i.e. inside an exhibition hall that resembles a hangar. The track builders have cleverly managed to fit in a number of berms and jumps, along with some 'north shore' and ladder drops, just to keep those who like to live on the edge a little bit happier. Of course there's no point in having a course with such obstacles without the right bikes to test it on, and there's no shortage of these.
Saracen, Scott, Bergamont Trek, Iron Horse, Diamond Back and Bionicon are all on hand with models from their range available for everyone to try. And don't worry if you're coming to the show and haven't got a helmet - there are plenty for you to use on the test track. You never know, you might like one of the lids so much that you buy one.
Or you could keep your money for some of the other goodies in the enormous kit tent where there's a whole range of stuff from makers like Oakley, Gore, Endura and Adidas. In fact you may just find yourself leaving the Cycle Show at Earls Court with far more gear than you arrived with - that tent is a dangerous place for the wallet!

Went to the show today.....
Absolute pants
Very Small - lots of big names missing.
There were no real good offers on anywhere
The mtb course is sand spread out with little humps just as you go into a berm,
The north shore stuff was all shut off due to some numpty on the trade day crashing!
Save the entry fee and put it towards one of the shows up north next year - either NEC or Stonleigh.

I thought the show looked the best it has done for years.
It's impossible to please everyone and true if you're looking for bargains then this is not the best option; but it's all about new bikes and it's on now!
What NEC bike show? There's none listed on their March or April 08 dates. It appears that it was a one off last year.......
If you like new products then go along, if you want cheap deals then maybe it's not for you, but there are a number or retail options there.
Great show

Went Yesterday,
This is the only show where you can see road bikes, and plenty of them.
Much better than Stoneleigh where there was only one road bike in the whole place.
The show was great, I liked the Pashley Guvnor but still think would be better with just a front sidepull brake and fixed wheel and alloy rims - would be nice & light then...
Then again it's nice to freewheel down the hills...
The gold Condor track bike was nice too...

I can only assume that Happy Eater didn’t go to the last 2 shows at Excel, East London, as they were worse that this years show. How can you put on an exhibition with all the latest goodies on show, then not be able to buy them. I agree it was PANTS. As for the sales area, who ever tried to organise that wanted shooting
