This year, more than 50,000 people applied for one of 20,000 places on the ride, and competition for spots in next year’s event is expected to be even hotter. However, event organisers London Marathon said the ballot will close automatically when 80,000 applications have been received.
To be in with a chance of securing a place in the UK’s biggest sportive, which will start at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and trace a 100-mile rolling route into the Surrey hills before returning for a grandstand finish on The Mall, visit the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 application page.
