Rapha revived the Bordeaux-Paris for an event last Friday as part of a fundraiser aimed to earn £250,000 for Ambitious about Autism, a cause close to the heart of Rapha founder Simon Mottram, whose son, Oscar, has autism. To continue the fundraising efforts, Rapha is running an online auction to benefit Ambitious about Autism, with personal and signed pieces of cycling gear donated by some of the biggest names in the sport.
Chris Hoy donated a signed skinsuit
The signed jerseys include:
- Mark Cavendish’s 2012 world champion’s jersey
- Ryder Hesjedal’s 2012 Giro d'Italia Maglia Rosa
- Andy Hampsten’s white jersey from the 1986 Tour de France (complete with the foie gras stain sustained during a food fight between Hampsten’s La Vie Claire teammates)
- Bradley Wiggins’ Team Sky jersey
Rapha is also raffling bikes, including David Millar’s Cervelo S3 from 2011, and an Independent Fabrication bike made for Rapha.
Also up for auction: a two-day training camp with Team Sky in Mallorca; a ride with David Millar in Girona; and a ride around New York with Greg LeMond and Rapha founder and CEO Simon Mottram.
