He’s currently hard at work dominating the Tour de France but next month Bradley Wiggins will be back riding a sportive on his home patch to celebrate the launch of his new foundation.
The Ride with Brad Sportive, in support of the Bradley Wiggins Foundation, will take place on Sunday 19 August in the Ribble Valley on some of the roads and climbs he regularly trains on. These include the Trough of Bowland, Waddington Fell and Pendle Hill, and all three have featured in recent editions of the Tour of Britain and British National Championships.

The two options are 160km and 100km, both £40, with the latter skipping the northern moorland loop around the Trough. Wiggins will be present in both so you’ve no need to worry on that score. Both routes start and finish at Victory Park in Barnoldswick, Lancashire.
Feed stations will be stocked with Gatorade and CNP products, and mechanical assistance provided by Wiggle. You can enter the event at www.bradleywigginsfoundation.org.
The Bradley Wiggins Foundation was set up last month to encourage sport participation, support keen and talented athletes in their bid to take their talent to the next level and provide equipment and facilities to allow sports participation.
