BikeRadar visited the teams at the start of stages 6 and 7 to see what equipment they were running and take a closer look at some of the new kit being unveiled at the Tour.

Some team’s choices reflected the impending mountains - Saxo-Tinkoff Bank’s spare bikes featured SRAM WiFLi technology yesterday, which gives riders a wider range of gears than the standard system. And burly Lotto-Belisol leadout man Adam Hansen opted for a lightweight Ridley Helium SL for stage 7.

Tomorrow, we can expect more of the same and the arrival of flyweight wheels and frames in large numbers. But for today at least, the high profile wheels and aerodynamic equipment still reigned. See our image gallery to get a feel of what was on show.
