Wednesday sees the 2012 Giro d'Italia arrive on home soil after the brief three-stage sojourn in Denmark, so it's as good a time as any to look back at a race with over 100 years of history.
In the video below, Cyclingnews' Mark Robinson takes us on a whistle stop tour of what many people consider to be the most prestigious race in the sport, from the early years of Coppi and Bartali to the present day and why a race that's Italian through and through started in Denmark.
