Tour de France stage 14: Majka wins in Risoul

Valverde loses time to Nibali

Rafal Majka, at one time publicly reluctant to even ride the Tour de France, won the queen stage atop the Risoul in a solo effort. The Tinkoff-Saxo rider had been part of an early escape group, pulling away from the remnants of that group with 10km to go. Second place went to the race leader Vincenzo Nibali (Astana), who had again attacked near the end, ahead of Jean-Christophe Peraud (Ag2r-La Mondiale), who had gone with him.
