Xpedo Mountain Force pedals review

Lightweight do-it-all pedals

BikeRadar score3.5/5

We’d like to nominate the Mountain Force for the best bling award – with its magnesium body and titanium axle weighing in at 236g it shrieks ‘go faster’ at you.

With its strength to weight ratio this pedal has been gathering a loyal race following, but we found it fit for all occasions.

The SPD compatible cleat housing is so open you could practically get a bus through it, which makes for very effective mud clearance.

The spring tension is adjustable through a wide range and the entry/exit is very positive, with a secure grip once you are in place leaving us feeling confident even when wrestling up steep climbs.

Although smaller pedals can be susceptible to knocks, despite some determined efforts, we haven’t come close to being able to upset these in any way.

You will need stiffer shoes to get the best out of the Mountain Force, but we think the practical, mud-beating ability and durable design mean you don’t need to save them for best or race days.
