Help Boardman Bikes and Cycling Plus find Britain’s best ride!

Win a Boardman Performance Series road bike

On a grey and chilly day last week British cycling legend Chris Boardman took Cycling Plus on the ride he considers to be the best in Britain. You’ll be able to read about Chris’s favourite route in issue 275, which hits the shops on April the 30th and, curiously enough, we want you to disagree with him!

Yep, if you think that your favourite road ride is the best Britain has to offer then get in touch. We’ve teamed up with Boardman Bikes and Halfords to find the ride that every road rider needs to try. We’re looking to create a shortlist of five rides that’ll be put to a public vote. If your route wins you’ll win a Boardman Performance Series road bike courtesy of Halfords. We’ll also have prizes each month for the three best rides submitted – £150 of cycle clothing, accessory and parts vouchers and a Muc-Off bike cleaning pack worth £38 for the month’s top ride and a Muc-Off bike cleaning for two runners up.

To enter simply take a snap like these of Chris that shows how stunning your ride is. (Don’t worry if Russell Burton isn’t available to shoot for you, we’re not expecting pro quality shots!) Even better, make a 30-second video in which you outline the best bits of your ride. You can post your pictures and videos on Cycling Plus's Facebook page here or email them to us at So come on, show off your favourite road ride!

Bonus points if you recognise where Mr B is posing!

Editor-in-Chief, Cycling Plus, Cycling Plus Magazine
Editor-in-chief Rob has been pedalling Cycling Plus since 2007. His first proper road bikes were a Raleigh Sprint in the early 1980s and then a Trek 1000 in 1999. A former competitive runner, Rob has repeatedly threatened to become a competitive cyclist in every discipline from time-trailling to hill climbing to bike polo. We're still waiting.
  • Discipline: Road. Mainly commuting but with the occasional mountainous sportive that he'll complain about/fail to complete. Enjoys cake stops. Will never, ever do another triathlon after a bad experience in open water.
  • Preferred Terrain: Gently undulated roads – he's more of a rouleur. Likes gravel.
  • Current Bikes: BMC Alpenchallenge, Viner Perfecta, BMC Granfondo GF0, anything shiny that Warren Rossiter will allow him to ride
  • Dream Bike: Bianchi Specialissima, Raleigh Banana
  • Beer of Choice: Innis and Gunn Original
  • Location: Bath, UK
