The full MBUK line up [Will Longden, Neil Donoghue, Marc Beaumont] are proud to have been selected for the Great Britain team at the World Championships in Fort William this September.
The three riders started the year with every intention of making the team but anything can happen in racing so, after some great results, it's good that they have got the recognition and confirmation that they made the cut. They have all started their final preparations to make sure they can perform to the very best of their ability in front of the home crowd.
"It's always an honour to pull on a Great Britain jersey and ride for your country," said team manager Will. "World champs is a one off event, with an atmosphere like no other on the MTB calendar. This year is extra special on home turf and it should produce some special results from the home team. This will be the 15th consecutive World Champs I have competed in for GB. Hope it's a good one!"
Marc Beaumont was also delighted at being selected, and is aiming for a good results. "It's been a major goal for me to ride well at the world champs in front of a home crowd, it's what all international athletes from any sport hope for," he said. "Top five is my aim but of course I'll be giving it everything to go a few places higher on the big day."
The team's third representative, Neil Donoghue said, "I cant wait to race at Fort William. It is always good racing world cups there so I'm sure it will be extra special at the world champs."
