For urban dwellers, what's better than leaving your vehicle parked at home, cruising effortlessly around town and always getting prime parking spots? Not much really. Civia Cycles knows this, and that's why they're all about urban transportation — especially with the new Lowry.

Both singlespeed and 7spd options are available - Civia Cycles

Sizes, gearing and wheels

Civia is offering the Lowry in four sizes, from Small to X-Large for the step-over frame and X-Small to Large in the step-through model. For a better fit, the X-Small and Small come with 26in wheels, while the remaining larger sizes roll on 700c wheels and tires.

Handlebar widths also grow from 570mm on the two smallest sizes to 595mm on the larger sizes.

Two drivetrains are offered; a singlespeed version with a 44/20 set up for flatter areas, and a 7spd with a Shimano Acera rear derailleur with a 14-34 spread pulled by a 39T ring.

Light and upright

The Lowry features an aluminum frame and wheels so total bike weight is around 23–25lb/10.4kg–11.3kg, depending on size. That low weight makes it easy to zoom around town, as well as carry up a flight of stairs. Plus aluminum doesn't rust, so these bikes are ready for the potentially tough urban life.

The frame angles promote a heads-up riding position, both for easy cruising, and to keep you in touch with your surroundings, whether that be a snarl of traffic or a scenic view along the bike path.
