For the 10th anniversary of its Cycle to Work scheme, Evans Cycles has collaborated with Paul Hartnoll of Orbital to create Heartwork, a music single in support of the British Heart Foundation.
Studies have found that cycling can reduce the risk of heart disease by 46 percent and Evan’s wants to help get 250,000 more people cycling by 2028. The track is intended to raise awareness for the British Heart Foundation and the benefits associated with cycling.
The tempo of the single is based on the recorded heart rate data of commuters and, in a nice touch, many of the sounds and percussion are sampled from Paul Hartnoll’s own bike.
To hear more about its creation you can watch the behind the scenes video below.
The track is free to download and listen to on the Evans Cycles site. Three exclusive vinyl pressings will also be auctioned off to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
For more information and testimonials about the benefits of commuting, check out the dedicated Heartwork page and consider donating to the worthy work of the British Heart Foundation.
