You’re going to be spoilt for choice with the number of off-the-bike activities we’re offering at this year’s BikeRadar Live.
Live music, DJs, go-karting and a film festival are just a few of the things you can get involved with when you’re not on two wheels. Read on for a closer look at two of the bike movies we’ll be showing in the Big Top.
Brighter
At midnight on Saturday we’ll be showing Brighter (New Wave Cinema, 30 minutes) by Tamas Forde, visionary co-creator of the underground cult classic Stripped and online web series Stund, and a past editor for Freeride Entertainment, of New World Disorder fame.
Filmed in North and
Klunkerz
Afterwards, at 12.30am, we’ll have the classic Klunkerz.
These 'klunker' bikes were modified using odd bicycle and motorcycle parts to suit their needs. It was from these humble beginnings that a billion dollar industry, a new form of recreation for the masses and an Olympic event were born.
Using archive footage, still photographs, and interviews, Klunkerz tells the story of the earliest days of the sport from the point of view of those who were there. Some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as some more obscure characters, recount the people and events that gave birth to the modern mountain bike.
