Good fitting goggles and we’re big fans of the Roll Off system too

Smith’s Fuel V.2 goggles offer one of the broadest fields of vision we’ve experienced. The strap stays tightly in place thanks to its silicone backing and the frame’s foam liner is nice and comfy. Together with the Roll Off system, the V.2s make riding in the rain no problem.

The standard lens will accept tear-offs or you can easily pop out the lugs and fit the Roll Off system. The small amount of added weight isn’t noticeable and, unlike tear-offs, you get a clear lens to peer through without leaving a thick film of plastic on the forest floor with every pull of the toggle.

The Roll Off units either side do cut into your peripheral vision ever so slightly but it doesn’t take long to adjust to. The toggle was never a problem to find or use, leaving you with a good sized clear strip across the lens.

It is important to keep moisture out from underneath the film though, much like tear-offs, and make sure you let them dry before sticking them back in the goggle bag, or the first pull on the toggle can get a little sticky.
