Lezyne Fire Break hydration pack review£39.99

Compact hydration

BikeRadar score2/5

The new Fire Break from Lezyne is the Californian brand’s most compact hydration pack yet. It features a lot of neat touches, like the glove-friendly zipper loops, designated tool storage and an emergency whistle built into the chest buckle.

The 2L bladder was less clever – it features a sandwich bag-style closure seam that popped open and deposited its contents all over our backs.

The decent-sized outer stash pocket could do with some waterproofing to make sure mobiles and wallets remain unaffected by that. We found the tool compartments a bit on the snug side too.

When dry, the padded rear of the Fire Break was comfortable, although the inclusion of a lower abdomen strap would have helped keep it in place when the going got choppy.

The baby Lezyne is lightweight and ideal for enduro-heads looking for a one-lap special, but the numerous little niggles all add up, and there are other less troublesome packs at this price that we’d opt for over this one.
