While you can always use p-clips to secure a rack to a frame without eyelets, the Sherpa cleverly opts for V-brake bosses and an axle mount as fixing points, providing a really stable set-up.

There’s a variety of models available, including ones with longer leg mounts designed to clear monster 29in tyres, and offset plates to clear mechanical disc brake callipers.

All share the same high quality, aluminium tubed construction, which goes some way to justifying the high price.

Certainly, we can’t complain about the finish. Ours has seen service all around the Asian backcountry and is still going strong.

The Sherpa is rated to 18kg, so is most suitable for carrying medium size loads.
