Our review
High on warmth and breathability, winter jackets don't come much better

Cannondale's LE jacket is aimed at riders who want plenty of warmth and protection for the coldest weather. It's made up of Hydrogrid Max material on the front and Thermal HydroGrid material on the back. This material is quite weird to touch at first but it's pliable (stretchy in four directions to provide a good fit), comfy and truly warm. It's also waterproof and windproof but still breathable so you don't drown in your own sweat as you warm up.

The LE has a far better cut than last year's thermal jacket and it's more fitted so it avoids bunching up. There's also more freedom of movement because the material is so stretchy.

The front zip is two-way to provide more ventilation options and it's good to see a zipper garage at the neck to avoid irritation. Up front are two regular pockets along with a zip pocket. At the rear there are three main pockets, with the two outer ones angled for ease of use, along with a zip pocket to keep keys and cash safe. Add to this some reflective logos and accents and you have a superb-performing, classylooking cold-weather jacket.
