Streamline by name, streamline by nature, this jacket has a seriously snug racer's cut, even in the large size we tried.
The tall collar, drawcord hem and velcro-tabbed cuffs mean there are still no gaps to let the weather in though and its minimalist design will have immediate appeal to speedsters.
Serious rain rattles off the Entrant-DT fabric without any sign of it getting in, and the detachable peaked hood will fit under your helmet if things get really bad. The unlined fabric can feel cold and clammy at first, but it sucks sweat out of your base layer and into the atmosphere as well as most more expensive big name fabrics.
There are no vents though and the wrists are tight so there's no way to blow away the inevitable sweat build-up if you're going hard. This makes the jacket less suitable for longer trail rides where you're likely to cook and then cool down again regularly, but it's good for foul-weather training.
The minimalist design means there's only one big map-sized back pocket but the pack size and weight are extremely low for a full waterproof at this price. If you want a lighter jacket, Scott's Shield Windjacket is £44.99.
