Scotland's premier but perpetually pragmatic MTB tailors go for the simple but effective approach here and it works.
The Windtex fabric on the front (the orange bit) stops breezes, and the rest of the jersey is lightweight fleece. This makes it a surprisingly warm top capable of staying comfy to frost point.
Despite a synthetic feel, it shifts sweat fast enough to feel dry against your skin most of the time and a full front zip makes temperature regulation easy. The relatively casual fit keeps things easy moving and leaves room for a base layer underneath. The extra waterproof phone pocket (together with three normal pockets) is a useful detail, the fabric is durable and the price is also very reasonable.
