Light and well priced for the power

Avid's Code R takes the big downhill calliper of the Code brake and matches it to an Elixir master cylinder to create a relatively light, high-powered all-mountain hybrid.

All Elixir master cylinders have now been reworked to solve previous air bubble intolerance, and so far we’ve had no reliability issues with any new Avids. The unique lever sweep gives great consistent control and amplified power feel too.

Sets that we’ve used on the trail feel a lot more powerful than the dyno data suggests, to the point where we’ve had to warn new users not to be too keen on the levers. The big calliper copes with heat build-up on long descents really well and the hose is well placed to avoid uplift/crash damage.
