K9 Direct 55 mountain bike stem review£100.00

Lightweight direct mount stem

BikeRadar score4/5

The Direct 55 from K9 looks like a normal two-piece direct mount stem but K9 have removed all unnecessary material and added a full set of titanium bolts, making it weigh in at just 118g. That makes it one of the lightest direct mount options available.

It looks great too, and the large cut-away section at the rear means it will easily fit around any headset spacers you have on your steerer. A hundred quid might seem expensive for a stem, but for the quality on offer here, it seems about right. It has a four-bolt RockShox Boxxer style mount and comes in a 55mm reach only, with a 31.8mm bar clamp.
