All of the Bell Alchera’s pads are in the front half of the helmet, but this doesn’t appear to have a detrimental effect on overall comfort.
If you have a smaller head, you may find problems with the lid’s plastic sides overlapping the tops of your ears, causing discomfort, so try before you buy.
There’s a dial at the back that adjusts the fit – it’s not as smooth as on more expensive models but still works well in practice.
Cooling is taken care of by the large, sweeping front vents. An Alchera up to three years old can be replaced for £25 if you crash (proof of purchase required).
