Mavic Cyclone jacket review£115.00

Breathable, weatherproof riding jacket

BikeRadar score4/5

The Cyclone is at the high performance, bike-only end of the spectrum, but not above the everyday. We’ve found ourselves wearing this a lot in the unpredictable deluge that has been this UK summer.

It has a jersey-like, heavyweight mesh back that wicks and breathes well, but the front and sleeves are a windproof/water resistant softshell that keeps off sudden showers and chill breezes.

When you first pull it on the shoulders look oversized against that slim cut, but once on the bike they give lots of room and don’t bind. The sleeves are slim with smooth stretch cuffs; they push up and stay up, but only if the fit is just right for you.

The offset front zip isn’t an affectation – combined with the curved cut of the collar it creates a very comfortable shape when riding.

The construction is excellent, easily matching the quality of the fabric; you get long zip pulls with easy-grip rubberized ends, a taped neck-seam and a mesh collar lining that’s very comfy. And it’s another top with lots of pocket detail – three up the back plus one zipped one. Class.
