Padded undershorts

BikeRadar score2.5/5

The Cross shorts from Knox offer articulated hip and thigh pads along with a pad covering your coccyx, all held together in a breathable mesh. The padding is quite bulky but should fit snugly under most trousers or shorts.

Once on the bike and out in the hills, you'll soon forget about the hip and thigh pads – which will certainly help should you take a spill – but when seated you'll definitely notice the coccyx pad. Luckily it's removable, as are all the pads.
