Cannondale's North American OverMountain team will be promoting the company's all-new SuperMax suspension fork this year. The SuperMax will debut in the Enduro World Series under OverMountain team riders Mark Weir, Ben Cruz, Jason Moeschler and Marco Osborne.
The team riders helped develop the SuperMax’s new internal components, including the Wide Mouth Piston that Cannondale says increases small-bump sensitivity and high-speed suppleness. The SuperMax has a dual crown for upper stiffness with the striking single-leg design that earlier iterations of Lefty made famous. Having a single leg on a fork — aside from making the term 'fork' a bit inaccurate — saves a considerable amount of weight, and Cannondale insists that no stability is lost.
“Going into the SuperMax testing I was a bit apprehensive,” Weir said. “After I got on it and started riding, it is a difference you would have to ride to believe. I’ve been riding the same corners for 15 years, and I try to carry my speed through every time. On the SuperMax, I’ve never been faster.”
