Specialized has rolled out a program to let mountain bikers customized the Stumpjumper FSR. Riders can personalize the Stumpy by choosing the paint, wheels, suspension and components.
The Stumpjumper Build Kit starts with a selection of the 27.5in, or 29/6Fattie S-Works Stumpjumper FSR frame. This full carbon frame is designed around a 150mm suspension fork and serves up 135mm of travel in the back.
From there, customers choose one of four limited edition colorways.
With color decided, it’s on to wheels, where the options are the Traverse SL Carbon or the budget-minded Traverse Alloy.
Next up on the list is specifying the front and rear suspension. There are budget and high-end options from RockShox and Fox and premium options from Öhlins that include the RXF 36 Air fork and STX Air or the RXF 36 and TTX coil shocks.
Last but not least is the component group, which can be a 12-speed SRAM XO1 Eagle or 11-speed SRAM GX kit.
The most affordable complete build will set buyers back $5,100. The top bike retails for $7,900. Riders can also purchase the the frame-only or frame with suspension and build it with their existing components.
Once you’ve made your selection, you can coordinate the purchase with you’re your local Specialized dealer.
Impulse buyers beware: according to Specialized it will take between 45-60 days for your bike to be delivered to the store.
