The Tour de Zwift is back for 2020 and will include more pro teams, flashier unlockable kit and more Zwifters than ever before.

The seven-stage event covers every Zwift in-game world and will include group rides, women’s-only group rides, and races.

A short and long group ride will be available to choose from. Like all Zwift races, there are categories A through D to choose from depending on your ability.

Completing each stage – either in a group ride or race – will earn credit towards the 2020 Zwift world championship’s kit. Completing all seven events will unlock the kit.

7 nights of pro racing

This year’s event will see CANYON//SRAM, TWENTY-20, Vitus, Canyon p/b Soreen, Ribble-Weldtite, SEG Racing, NTT U23 and Hagens Berman Axeon competing in men’s and women’s exhibition races on the eve of each event.

The professional riders will be joined by the very best amateur racers from the rank and file of the Zwift community.

Each of these events will be accompanied by a full broadcast co-hosted by e-sports presenter OJ Borg and former pro, Hannah Walker.

Should such pedestrian torture tickle your pickle, the Tour de Zwift is now open to runners for the first time. If you’re a true masochist, completing both challenges will earn you two kit unlocks.

The event kicks off on the 12 January with the first stage taking place in London, wrapping up on the 8 February in Yorkshire.

Zwifters will have the chance to ride in events up to the 16 February to catch up on any stages they missed during the event itself.

Zwift cautions that space on these events will be limited, so if you really want that shiny new kit, be sure to catch a ride as soon as possible.
