The legendary Grosmont jump spot has long been an inspiration for Northern riders. A former training ground for the whole MBUK international downhill team, it has regularly propelled the likes of Will Longden, Dave Wardell, Jamie Tomkins into the sort of air they know best what to do with.

Just up the road from Jamie he spends most of his life up there in the summer with his mates, in this case his friend Guy.

Never without his digital camera, Pete Tomkins got these shots which may well get you through next winter. Print out and keep in a safe place for those days when it gets dark as soon as you get up, slate grey clouds hurl themselves across the lowering sky and squalls of rain hit you in the face like a handful of pebbles.
