Our sister magazine What Mountain Bike is looking for two readers to tackle the first ever TransWales event and fly the What Mountain Bike flag. Each year we’re going to select an event and enter a reader team and for 2006 we’re kicking things off with the TransWales that takes place in August. You will get free entry and all the VIP trimmings that come with being part of the WMB family.

The entry alone is worth £800, inclusive of food, camping and facilities, equipment transport, £150 worth of goody bag and kit, service stations, finisher jersey, and maps and course materials but we’ll be adding to that list for the successful pair. We will also record your exploits for a future issue.

The event runs from 12 – 20 over 400km of some of Wales’ best natural and purpose built trails in point to point event with a twist. The total courses made up of marathon linking legs and rally-esque special stages at trail centres

Time is short: tell us in no more than 50 words why you should ride for us, together with an event CV of your past exploits. The closing
date is Friday 16 June We’ll draw up a shortlist and invite the finalists to a selection weekend at the Builth Wells Merida 100 MTB
Marathon (1-2 July) from which the successful pairing will be selected.
