Chocolade Jacques' Dave Bruylandts has acknowledged a positive dope test during a press conference iPICTURE BY TIM DE WAELE Chocolade Jacques rider Dave Bruylandts has reportedly tested positive for EPO, according to Belgian paper La Dernire Heure. The paper says in today's edition that Bruylandts tested positive at a race in April and that his positive test has been confirmed by a counter-analysis. Belgian radio has gone further and reported the race in question was the GP Pino Cerami on April 8, where Bruylandts finished fourth. Although no official confirmation of a positive test for the Belgian rider has yet been given, Bruylandts himself has said at a press conference in Belgiun today that he has been informed by his team of the test results. "When the team told me that I had tested positive I was completely stunned. I have been tested frequently in the past and during this season and never been positive," he said. "The only possible explanation that I can think is that it is the result of a homeopathic product I was advised to take by my nutritionist, a person in whom I had complete confidence. I have worked with them for three or four months, but it now seems I've made a big mistake in giving them my trust. I am going to conduct my own investigation in order to find an explanation, but I can't say any more than that at the moment." Bruylandts finished third in the Tour of Flanders just four days before the GP Cerami.
