The first Evans Cycles Ride It! Event, where road and mountain bike riders get the chance to ride waymarked routes, takes place on the weekend of March 29 and 30 at Gatwick, Sussex.
The rides are suitable for all abilities and are organised to take the hassle out of plotting your own route – you can just get out and ride.
The off road ride takes place on the Saturday, which will take in between 12 and 35 miles of local bridleways and byways depending on the route you take. The routes are carefully planned by the Ride It! team, and all riders are given a free Memory Map OS map at the beginning of the ride.
The road ride takes place on the Sunday on back roads and country lane with distances between 15 miles for the family-oriented leisure riders and 90 miles for the hardcore lycra lovers. Again, all riders are given a free Memory Map OS map at the beginning of the ride, though the route is fully waymarked.
The medium and long routes have SIS drink stations en route, kids can ride for free and adult entry is £10 per rider. Go to the Evans website for more information.
