Casco aren't a well known name in the UK, but their Warp II lid is used by the GB track squad. If their helmets are good enough for Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton, they're good enough for us, so we thought we'd give you a sneak peak. They're being brought into the country by new distributors Eurobike.
The Warp II, pictured above, is made of carbon side shells laminated to a polycarbonate central shell. A mirrored visor tops off this lightweight track helmet, which weighs in at 380g. It's available in two sizes, with a dial to tune the fit. RRP is £229.99.
The carbon Ares is one of the most innovative models in Casco's lineup, with a central aluminium 'roll bar' that juts out slightly further than the rest of the helmet. This is designed to disperse impacts across the helmet in the event of a crash, rather than the force being concentrated in one area.
The Ares also features Casco's Monocoque Inmold process, where the carbon fibre outer is moulded to the helmet's internal polycarbonate frame. Available in black, white and red, it costs £139.99 and comes with a detachable peak for off-road use.
Further down the price range is the Daimor mountain bike lid at £79.99. Again, this has inmould construction and a polycarbonate frame, along with 26 vents to keep your head cool.
Casco's range also includes freeride, dirt jump and even electric bike helmets. For details, see www.eurobike.uk.com.
