A documentary centred around the world of fixed-gear bikes in Bristol, England will get its premiere this Saturday. BÖIKZMÖIND, directed by Gavin Strange, will get its first showing in the city's Millenium Square at 8pm.
The documentary attempts to explain how and why fixed-gear riding has grown so much in a city which, because of its hills, isn't exactly suited to bikes with no gears. Its creators say it was originally envisaged to be a 10-minute short for submission to the Bicycle Film Festival, but it continued to expand along with the scene in Bristol.
Interviews with the array of characters who shape the world of fixed-gear riding form the basis of the film. The premiere will be an open-air screening and people are encouraged to ride down on Saturday evening. It's open to all and free of charge. You can check out the trailer below:
