For the past three years, Fort William has successfully hosted the opening Downhill and 4-Cross events in the UCI mountain bike calendar. Building on this success, in 2005 Fort William has been selected by the UCI (International Cycling Union) as the venue for the World Cup Finals on 10-11 September 2005. The UCI were looking for a strong venue for the Finals in 2005 as part of their new expanded World Cup calendar (just released). The Nevis Range will again host the world's best downhill and 4-Cross, with the Forestry Commission's Witch's Trail course the site for all of the cross country action.

Further details of the Fort William World Cup Finals will be released in early 2005, but make a note of the changed date now - and book your accommodation early.
