Helen starts out with a winTeam Halfords Bikehut rider Helen Gaskel won the Maxxis Cup in Tartaua, Spain, last week. A super fast, dry and dusty four minute course suited her perfectly. She came back to England and did a repeat performance at the Souttherns in Combe Sydenham. Good trip Helen?:
"It were reet* great, doing some training and a bit of racing. It's nice to get a bit of sun as well. The first priority was to test and fine tune the new Azonic I'll be racing this season. Still needs a few tweaks, but it's running really smooth and the Romic shock seems to be working very well. It's nice and light and tracks really well. Then I won the Maxxis Cup race, which was a nice way to end the trip."
Dan out there with you?
"Yes, both Dan and Gee (Atherton). Riding and training with them is making me a lot stronger, and is helping my skill base.
"Dan crashed at the Maxxis Race and only manged 15th but Gee got 7th which is a hell of a result as the entire Maxxis team (with their factory support) were there. Gee's pretty stoked."
How about you? Up for it?
"I've ridden loads over the last two weeks and I am feeling pretty strong. It's going to be a fun summer".
