George W. Bush receives Slovenian mountain bike

US president meeting with European Union

United States President George W. Bush received a Cult carbon hardtail mountain bike from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Janez Jansa Tuesday.

Bush was in Slovenia for a meeting of the European Union; Jansa is president of the Council.

Both politicians are cyclists; Prime Minister Jansa spends some of his free time on a Cult bike – a Slovenian brand that was established 10 years ago in small town of Idrija. With new headquarters in Logatec, Cult is now one of best known and selling brands in Slovenia and for this reason it was also selected as a present for Bush. The president received a full carbon Black Gold XTR, a top level hardtail bike.

Bush started riding mountain bikes in 2003 after a knee injury from running. With good physical condition he quickly mastered the skills of mountain biking, doing most of his rides on the family ranch in Crawford, Texas but mainly riding with guests at Camp David near the White House.
