PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM After consecutive wins by new team leader Alejandro Valverde, Illes Balears ended the Majorca Challenge with a third victory in a row when local rider Toni Colom hung on with a lone break into the resort town of Palmanova. The Majorcan, who won the overall prize in this event last year, finished just a couple of seconds clear of Quick Step's Jos Antonio Pecharroman and Saunier Duval's David de la Fuente after breaking clear on a steep descent close to the finish. The next group was led in nine seconds later by Colom's team-mate and race leader Valverde, who maintained his advantage for the overall prize given at the end of what are effectively five one-day races on consecutive days.
